Enrico Bronzi

3-4-5-6 August 2018 – Brunnenburg, Dorf Tirol

The fifth edition of CastelCello, a precious and rare festival entirely dedicated to the cello, presents four concerts by engaged artists of different nationalities. This year’s edition will begin with Enrico Bronzi, a virtuoso of the instrument and among the world’s best, with a program which includes Bach and rare pieces such as the Ligety sonata together with transcriptions of antique pieces by Bronzi himself. On the second evening the Spanish Duo Boccherini, consisting of Antonio Martin Acevedo (cello) and Marisa Gomez (guitar) will devote their efforts to hispanic culture, ranging from Argentinean Tango to other popular formats and South American and Spanish classics. At the third appointment the highly acclaimed German soloist Alexander Hülshoff will present a program which ranges from Bach to the English contemporary composers Benjamin Britten and John Tavener and which will include a Southtyrolean surprise. For the first time this year a free concert is included: students attending Francesco Dillon’s masterclass from August 2nd to August 7th will perform a final concert.
